On September 12, 2024, the 9th Seoul Climate-Energy Conference will be held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seoul, under the theme "Intelligence-powered Solutions to Net-Zero: AI and Convergence Talent for Green Transformation". This conference is co-hosted by the KAIST Graduate School of Green Growth and Sustainability (KAIST GGGS), and Coalition for Our Common Future (COCF), with the support of the Presidential Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth.
The central theme of this event is the achievement of net-zero goals through the organic integration of science and technology, industrial policy, and green finance. The conference will emphasize the importance of cultivating interdisciplinary talent in these three areas and engage in in-depth discussions on how AI-based net-zero intelligence can accelerate the green transformation. Leading experts from academia and industry, both domestic and international, will gather to discuss innovative AI-driven climate response strategies and the development of sustainable financial systems. The conference will also address green industrial policy and the enhancement of international cooperation as key agenda items.
Additionally, the event will feature the launch of the Net-Zero Intelligence Partnership (NZIP), a collaborative initiative among industry, academia, and government aimed at supporting companies and nations in pursuing net-zero and sustainability through data-driven intelligence.
The conference will offer simultaneous Korean-English interpretation and will be live-streamed on YouTube. On-site attendance will be limited to pre-registered invitees. This conference will provide a platform to explore new pathways for the green transformation and reaffirm the importance of cultivating carbon-neutral interdisciplinary talent and AI-based net-zero intelligence.
